The Panamanian flagged 33000 DWT bulk carrier MV AL KHALIQ was hijacked at 220559Z this morning in the Somali Basin 04 29S 052 26E. More to follow when known.

MV JOLLY ROSSO was attacked this morning at 220448Z in the Somali Basin 03 37S 046 45E. Two skiffs with 5 or 6 POB fired 6-7 bursts of auto fire and 3 RPG’s at the 30000 t Italian flagged RO-RO cargo ship which used all their counter piracy measures. She succeeded in evading the attack and is now under way.

MV "THOR SPRING" was attacked 16th evening in the IRTC (1340N 05053E) during twilight (1508Z). One skiff with 6 or 7 POB fired ten rounds from automatic weapon at the bridge of the 4000 t Maltese flagged General Cargo ship which used counter piracy measures including evasive manoeuvres and the use of flares. FGS AUGSBURG (German Frigate) was close by and responded to the emergency call. The skiff broke off the attack when FGS AUSBURG arrived at the scene. MV "THOR SPRING" is safe and no casualties are reported.
